TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES Of all types of injuries in the United States, those to the brain cause the most deaths and permanent disabilities every year, particularly to young people, and most of these
|
tragedies are preventable. Brain injuries affect not only the injured person, but the entire family. Often the full extent of the injury is not recognized by health care providers, and even when it is, the resources to pay for critical rehabilitation are unavailable. Frequently, disabling impairment caused by brain injury is not discernable by the stranger, casual observer, or juror, whose first impression is important. Representation of persons with head injuries requires an awarenes of a wide range of issues, and sensitivity to the vunerablities of the client and his or her family. Proof of the full impact on the client's life is often challenging, and can be frustrating, but the opportunity to have a postitive impact on the quality of the rest of the client's life is ever-present in these cases. For decades our firm has regularly represented person with head injuries and we look forward to continuing the challenging work. |
