This past Wednesday, October 21, 2026, a few of our attorneys from Shamberg, Johnson & Bergman traded the courtroom for the clay range to take part in one of the Johnson County Bar Association’s longest-standing traditions: the annual Turkey Shoot. Attorneys Daniel Singer, Richard Budden, Courtney Neff, and Jeanne B. Meyer joined fellow Johnson County attorneys and judges for an afternoon at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, Kansas.
The Johnson County Bar Association (JCBA) has connected and supported the legal community throughout Johnson County and the Kansas City metro since 1938, and the Turkey Shoot is one of its favorite social gatherings each year. This year’s event gave attendees a choice between fifty rounds of sporting clays or a more relaxed BB gun option, all built around lunch, a safety briefing, and plenty of time to catch up with colleagues from across the local bar. The afternoon wrapped up with drinks at the clubhouse.
We look forward to the Turkey Shoot every year for the chance to spend an afternoon with the judges and attorneys who make up our local legal community. Being an active part of Johnson County and the greater Kansas City area means a lot to us, so we love to show up for the people and organizations that make this community what it is in events like the Turkey Shoot.
